Cascadia is a project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of desert grandeur with coastal sophistication. Located on Dubai Islands' coveted waterfront, STUDIOMINT was commissioned to create interior spaces that capture the essence of Dubai's unique landscape—where sweeping desert dunes meet pristine ocean shores. The design creates an oasis retreat that celebrates both the raw beauty of nature and the refined luxury expected in one of Dubai's most stunning coastal locations.

The Brief
Dubai Islands was establishing itself as a premier destination for luxury waterfront living, with Cascadia serving as a distinctive residential development. STUDIOMINT's brief was to design interiors that would create a tranquil desert oasis within this coastal setting, drawing inspiration from the undulating dunes where sands shift and shimmer in golden hues under the sun's light. The challenge was to translate the concept of flowing desert landscapes into sophisticated interior spaces that would offer residents both serenity and energy, while seamlessly integrating with the waterfront architecture and surrounding landscape.
The Approach
The challenge was solved by developing Cascadia’s design philosophy, inspired by the sweeping, undulating forms of desert dunes that continuously shift and reshape. We created spaces that flow harmoniously through organic shapes, warm golden tones, and dynamic textures that evoke both tranquillity and movement. The design celebrates the intersection of nature's timeless elegance with modern living fluidity, using flowing lines, bronze accents, and natural materials throughout. A second design layer introduces the desert oasis concept—unexpected lush green pockets that create striking contrast against the neutral and golden palette.
The Outcome
The interior design of Cascadia establishes a unique residential experience that bridges Dubai's desert heritage with its coastal aspirations. The lobby serves as a dramatic arrival sequence with flowing curves, statement lighting, and abundant greenery creating an immediate sense of oasis luxury. Each apartment becomes a tranquil retreat where natural materials blend seamlessly with the architecture, utilizing soft lines and organic forms. STUDIOMINT has envisioned Cascadia as a celebration of Dubai's distinctive landscape, where residents experience the poetry of desert living enhanced by waterfront luxury.
